January 3-5 Next Year, 2 PM Family Program with Toddlers and Elementary Students 'Our Family Museum Outing'
From 10 AM on the 26th, 15 Teams Per Day Can Apply on a First-Come, First-Served Basis via Jeonggwan Museum Website
Jeonggwan Museum, affiliated with Busan Museum, will operate an educational program for families with young children and elementary school students titled "Our Family Museum Outing: 'Good or Bad Snake'" every day at 2 PM from January 3 to 5 next year at Jeonggwan Museum.
In celebration of the winter vacation and the Year of the Blue Snake (Eulsa Year), this special educational program related to snakes has been prepared for families visiting Jeonggwan Museum.
In this program, participants will listen to various folktales featuring snakes as main characters, create folk and cultural heritage items related to snakes, and learn about the diverse meanings of snakes as perceived by ancestors.
In Part 1, participants will listen to the cheerful folktale "The Immortal Official and the Gureongdeongi" in a storytelling format and explore the positive and negative meanings of snakes through snake imagery found in folk and cultural heritage.
In particular, through the names of villages in the Gijang area related to snakes and the folk belief called "Eopsin Mosigi," participants can understand the significance of snakes to the people of the Gijang region.
In Part 2, participants will solve quizzes related to snakes based on what they learned earlier and create a "Sun Catcher" in the shape of a blue snake. The "Sun Catcher" is a decorative item that gathers light and spreads it in all directions to ward off bad energy and bring good energy. It embodies the positive energy of the snake and carries the wish for good fortune throughout the Eulsa Year.
Applications for participation will be accepted starting at 10 AM on the 26th via the Jeonggwan Museum website or the city’s integrated reservation system, with 15 teams accepted per day on a first-come, first-served basis.

Park Mi-wook, director of Jeonggwan Museum, stated, “In celebration of the winter vacation and the Year of the Blue Snake (Eulsa Year), we have prepared an interesting educational program related to snakes. Since snakes are creatures that evoke strong likes and dislikes, we designed this program to be engaging and focused on positive content, considering those who may have fear or apprehension toward snakes. We ask for the citizens’ great interest and participation.”
