Maximum 100 People Admission, Specialized Spaces Expected to Be Popular
Seodaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seongheon) announced on the 13th that it has recently started operating a winter-specialized space at the global healing spot ‘Cafe Pokpo’ in preparation for the winter season.
‘Cafe Pokpo’ (262-24 Yeonhui-ro), where visitors can enjoy coffee while overlooking a large waterfall, has emerged as a popular destination attracting attention from citizens and domestic and international tourists since its opening in April last year as Seoul’s first waterfront emotional city project.
The district has newly created a ‘large transparent dome space’ this time as well. Visitors can enjoy viewing the Seodaemun Hongje Waterfall warmly, protected from the cold and wind even in winter.
The dome can accommodate up to 100 people simultaneously, and the structure is made of transparent vinyl material, allowing a clear view outside. To enhance the year-end and New Year atmosphere, a large Christmas tree and landscape lighting were installed, and a photo zone was set up with ‘Seochi,’ the official mascot of Seodaemun-gu. On the second floor of Cafe Pokpo, artworks by young artists are exhibited for all visitors to enjoy.
Mayor Lee Seongheon said, “We have prepared a warm space for visitors to rest even in winter as a token of gratitude to those who have visited Cafe Pokpo so far,” adding, “I hope many people visit and heal their tired bodies and minds in everyday life.”
