The Goyang Innovation Strategy Seminar is a regular breakfast seminar co-hosted by the Goyang Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Chairman Lee Sang-heon) and the Goyang Research Institute (Director Kim Hyun-ho), conducted for businesspeople to explore innovative measures for the local economy of Goyang City.
Now in its third session, the Goyang Innovation Strategy Seminar was held to listen to voices from the business field and find directions for mutual growth and development of the local economy, with the theme of ‘Fostering and Development Plans for Venture Companies.’
Lee Sang-heon, Chairman of the Goyang Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said, “It is very meaningful to participate in the 3rd Goyang Innovation Strategy Seminar held after Goyang City was designated as a Venture Business Promotion Zone. I hope this will be an opportunity to join forces so that Goyang’s future growth engines can take root based on the interest of the attendees.”
Lee Dong-hwan, Mayor of Goyang Special City, said, “Congratulations on the hosting of the 3rd Goyang Innovation Strategy Seminar, and I hope it will contribute to the development of Goyang City. Goyang is currently in the stage of setting directions to become a global self-sufficient city, and I think the seminar’s theme, ‘Fostering and Development Plans for Venture Companies,’ is a very appropriate topic for this time.”
He added, “It has been regrettable that Goyang City, despite having the conditions of an economic hub, has not been able to fully demonstrate them. The city will do its best to create a business-friendly city by preparing practical support measures for corporate growth and establishing an ecosystem for companies.”
Kim Hyun-ho, Director of the Goyang Research Institute, said, “We look forward to the achievements next year based on the three seminars held this year. I thank Director Lee Chang-seop for his presentation today, and I hope good discussions will follow the presentation and lead to great results.”
Following this, Lee Chang-seop, Planning and Management Director of the Small and Medium Business Corporation, gave a presentation titled ‘Introduction to the Small and Medium Business Corporation’s Institutions and Projects and Cooperation Plans for Supporting Small Businesses in Goyang City.’
Director Lee explained, “Since its establishment 45 years ago, the Small and Medium Business Corporation has been implementing small and medium venture business policies at the forefront, mainly supporting policy funds, expanding and supporting exports, supporting startups, and conducting structural innovation projects centered on regional hubs.” He also said, “The Small and Medium Business Corporation collaborates with local Small and Medium Business Administration offices, local governments, and related organizations to focus on fostering industries suited to regional characteristics.”
Director Lee said, “The fact that Goyang City was designated as the first Venture Business Promotion Zone in northern Gyeonggi Province will greatly help as a growth base for venture companies, which are future new growth engines, and in expanding the ecosystem of advanced technology startups.” He added, “If the promotion zone is utilized in connection with government policies and the fostering of future strategic industries, it will produce great results.”
Meanwhile, Goyang City plans to regularly hold the Goyang Innovation Strategy Seminar centered on the Goyang Research Institute in cooperation with the Goyang Chamber of Commerce and Industry, building networks with local companies to devise measures for innovating the regional economy.
