Training Growth-Oriented Game Programmers
Krafton announced on the 9th that it has newly established the 'Krafton Jungle Game Tech Lab' and will expand its talent development program.
The Game Tech Lab is a CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) program planned by Krafton to nurture the next-generation game programmers who will lead the global game industry. The entire educational curriculum incorporates the philosophy of Krafton's software talent development program, 'Krafton Jungle,' including immersion, self-directed learning, and team-based collaboration.
The Game Tech Lab aims to cultivate game programmers who can grow independently. Successful applicants will reside together for 24 weeks, developing the ability to understand and utilize game engines, graphics theory, and the latest technologies. They will also learn production experience and know-how from active game developers, including those at Krafton, and create their own 'personal game engine.' Through this, participants plan to release an app with new features not found in existing game engines on the content marketplace Fab.
The application period is from December 9 to January 13, with up to 32 people to be selected. Anyone passionate about game development can apply, not only those with related majors. The selection process proceeds in the order of ▲document screening ▲entrance exam ▲interview, and preparatory learning materials for the entrance exam are also provided separately. The final successful candidates will reside together for about 24 weeks from March to August at the newly built Krafton Jungle Campus in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province.
Kim Jeong-han, Director of Krafton Jungle, said, “The Krafton Jungle Game Tech Lab is characterized by people with diverse experiences sharing their passion for game development, collaborating, and directly experiencing the process of game engine production and application release.” He added, “We plan to actively support participants so that they can grow into capable programmers who will lead the global game industry through immersion, self-directed learning, and team-based collaboration based on residency.”
