BNK Financial Group (Chairman Bin Dae-in) held the third ‘BNK Social Contribution Day’ event of 2024 on the 16th, with the value of ‘genuine win-win activities with the local community,’ involving employees from all group affiliates.

The ‘BNK Social Contribution Day’ events, themed ‘Sharing with the Underprivileged’ in January and ‘ESG Practice’ in April, were held under the theme of ‘Love for the Region.’ Approximately 1,200 employees from all group affiliates participated in activities across BNK Financial Group’s main business areas: Busan, Gyeongnam, Ulsan, and Seoul.
On this day in Busan, about 400 employees, including Chairman Bin Dae-in and the group delegation, gathered at Haeundae and carried out environmental cleanup activities along the Galmaetgil Trail Section 2-1 (Dongbaek Island to Mipo Port).
In particular, they conducted a ‘beachcombing’ event to collect coastal litter, raising awareness of marine pollution caused by microplastics and cigarette butts, demonstrating BNK’s sincere commitment to ESG management and regional coexistence.
Meanwhile, about 400 employees in the Gyeongnam region engaged in plogging activities along the Namgang River, one of the eight scenic spots of Jinju. In Ulsan, activities were held at Taehwagang National Garden, the venue for the 2028 International Garden Expo, and in Seoul, various activities took place around the Hangang Park area, all in collaboration with the local communities.
Chairman Bin Dae-in of BNK Financial Group stated, “The third BNK Social Contribution Day this year has established itself as a representative event for the group to communicate with the local community,” adding, “We will continue to practice finance that helps the region through various efforts to realize a prosperous local society.”
BNK Financial Group recently received an integrated A grade in the 2024 ESG management evaluation, notably earning an A+ grade in the environment and social sectors, fulfilling corporate social responsibility and striving to create a sustainable society.
