‘Deepfake-Generated Fake Videos Are Clear Crimes’... Call to Stop Criminal Misuse
Cho Sung-myung, Gangnam District Mayor, and Jeon Seong-su, Seocho District Mayor, Recommended as Next Participants
Lee Pil-hyung, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, joined the 'Deepfake Crime Prevention Challenge' on the 15th, urging people to stop using advanced technology for criminal purposes.
This challenge is conducted in a relay format, where participants post photos with the phrase "False videos using deepfake are clear crimes" on social media to raise awareness about the dangers of deepfake crimes, then nominate the next participants.
Mayor Lee Pil-hyung of Dongdaemun-gu joined the challenge after being nominated by Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. Mayor Lee said, "We must educate on the proper use of artificial intelligence (AI) and work together as a society and families to raise awareness about digital sex crimes," adding, "We will strive to create a healthy educational and cultural environment so that Dongdaemun-gu can be a good educational city for raising children."
Mayor Lee nominated 'Jo Seong-myeong, Mayor of Gangnam-gu' and 'Jeon Seong-su, Mayor of Seocho-gu' as the next participants in the challenge.
