Jeon Woo-won (28), the late former President Jeon Du-hwan's grandson, who was sentenced to a suspended prison term for habitual drug use, expressed gratitude, saying he was able to quit drugs with the help of former Gyeonggi Province Governor Nam Kyung-pil.

On the 6th, Jeon attended the 2024 Daniel Prayer Meeting held at Oryun Church in Gangdong-gu, Seoul, and took the stage as a speaker introduced by former Governor Nam. On that day, Nam introduced Jeon by saying, "My son is notorious, but there is someone even more notorious." He added, "My son also suffered some stress because he is Nam Kyung-pil's son, but the grandson of President Jeon Du-hwan must have suffered about ten times the stress. He must have had many wounds, pains, and deficiencies."

Taking the stage, Jeon said, "I was really a big problem child," but added, "Still, I have maintained abstinence for nearly two years." He continued, "I could never have done it alone," and expressed gratitude, saying, "I am really lacking and have many problems, but many people embraced me with a generous heart and were patient with me. Especially Representative Nam Kyung-pil cared for me like a father and showed me love. It was also Representative Nam who helped me attend the church I am currently going to. He is giving me truly fatherly love."

Former Governor Nam said, "Jeon Woo-won has been abstinent for about a year and a half, but that doesn't mean he has completely quit," adding, "We never know when he might relapse. Please support him so he doesn't fall."

Earlier, Nam's eldest son was prosecuted for habitual drug use and was sentenced to 2 years and 6 months in prison at the appellate trial in December last year and is currently serving his sentence. Following his son's drug case, Nam has been active as a drug prevention activist. In March, he launched the drug prevention and healing organization ‘Eungu’ (NGU·Never Give up) and serves as its representative.

Jeon, who was also prosecuted for habitual drug use, was sentenced to 2 years and 6 months in prison with a 4-year suspended sentence at the appellate trial in April, the same as the first trial.
