LoLGPT Trained on 300 Million Data Points... Surpassing Expert Level
An AI technology capable of highly accurate match predictions and strategic recommendations, surprising even professional gamers, has been developed.
It is expected to revolutionize the landscape for eSports fans and professional teams.
ARI.ai, founded by Professor Juyoun Kim of the Graduate School of Artificial Intelligence at UNIST (President Jongrae Park), has unveiled the world’s first generative AI model for eSports, ‘LoLGPT.’ This model has learned from 300 million match data points from professional players and high-level users, achieving a level of understanding of League of Legends (LoL) that surpasses human experts.
‘LoLGPT’ has reached a level in League of Legends that exceeds human experts, similar to how AlphaGo demonstrated its prowess in Go. When a player and champion are selected, it analyzes all past match histories, player and champion characteristics, combinations, proficiency, and patch information to predict the flow of the game and forecast the final winning team.
ARI.ai provides customized features for professional teams such as ‘match simulation,’ ‘ban/pick simulation,’ ‘strategy recommendation,’ and ‘team building recommendation.’ It also offers flexibility to develop additional features tailored to the specific needs of teams. Based on these core functions, the company plans to offer services to professional teams worldwide in the future.
Professor Juyoun Kim stated, “Existing League of Legends AI services struggled to meet the demands of professional teams due to technical limitations. LoLGPT offers insights that surpass experts and will bring significant changes to the eSports market.” She emphasized, “Just as AlphaGo introduced new training methods to professional Go players, an era will come when eSports professional teams will use LoLGPT for their training.”
