Sharing Outstanding Volunteer Cases... Over 250 Audience Evaluators Participated
Lee Dong-hwan, Mayor of Goyang Special City, attended the '2024 Volunteer Ignite in Goyang 10th Anniversary' event held at the Goyang City Arts Center on the 18th and delivered a congratulatory speech. The Goyang City Volunteer Center (Chairman Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 21st that it held the ‘2024 Volunteer Ignite in Goyang 10th Anniversary’ at the Goyang City Arts Center on the 18th.
Started in 2015, this event, now in its 10th edition, is a presentation contest where volunteers share the inspiration and passion of volunteering through their own voices and collectively share various outstanding volunteer cases in Goyang City.
At the event, Lee Dong-hwan, Mayor of Goyang Special City, attended to encourage the dedication and efforts of the volunteers, and Kim Un-nam, Chairman of the Goyang Special City Council, delivered congratulatory remarks for the 10th anniversary.
A total of 10 teams of presenters participated in this contest, each presenting for 5 minutes about the changes and inspirations they experienced through volunteer activities. About 250 audience evaluators were present to select the two teams with the most relatable stories.
Following the tally of the audience evaluators, the awards were given as follows: 6 teams received the Goyang Mayor’s Award, 2 teams received the Goyang City Council Chairman’s Award, and 2 teams received the Gyeonggi-do Goyang Education Support Office Superintendent’s Award.
The audience evaluators who participated on site expressed, “It was rewarding to be at a meaningful event that talks about and shares the value of volunteering,” and “It was a precious time that gave a deep impression.”
Meanwhile, the moving volunteer stories of the 10 teams from the ‘2024 Volunteer Ignite in Goyang 10th Anniversary’ will be available for viewing on the Goyang City Volunteer Center’s YouTube channel this coming November.
