Busan City announced that the public presentation held on the 8th, which accepted applications from 500 citizens on a first-come, first-served basis, was fully booked within 10 minutes of opening registration.
The presentation will be held as scheduled on the 18th at 10 a.m. in the city hall auditorium, and the submitted design proposals will be exhibited in the first-floor lobby of city hall for three days from the 16th to the 18th.

Among the original six candidate sites, one site did not submit a model by the deadline, so while it will participate in the public presentation and exhibition, it will be excluded from the selection process.
The evaluation of the design proposals for the ‘Special Architectural Zone Activation Pilot Project,’ which contain architects’ creative designs, will also be conducted publicly.
The six teams will each have 20 minutes for presentations and 20 minutes for Q&A in the order determined by a draw, followed by a public review by the separately formed Future Architecture Innovation Committee.
The results of the evaluation will be announced on the city’s design competition website on the 22nd.
Citizens who cannot attend the public presentation can watch it live via the official YouTube channel of the Busan International Architecture Festival.
For more details on YouTube attendance and other information, please refer to the Busan International Architecture Festival website or contact the festival secretariat.
Ha Seong-tae, Director of the City Housing and Architecture Bureau, stated, “The ‘Special Architectural Zone Activation Pilot Project’ will play an important role in Busan’s leap to become a ‘global hub city.’ We plan to fairly evaluate the submitted design proposals based on creativity and public interest to ensure they become representative architectural works of Busan.”
