Senior Gardening Program, Guro Village Gardener Training Course Program, One-Day Class Operation
Opening Ceremony Held at 1:30 PM on the 14th
Guro-gu (Mayor Moon Heon-il) will hold the opening ceremony of the ‘With Garden Garden Support Center’ at 1:30 PM on the 14th at the Guro Garden Support Center (12, Gaebong-ro 17-gil).
The Garden Support Center has a total floor area of 110㎡ and is a three-story building above ground, with interior and exterior renovations completed last September. The first floor houses a garden consultation office and a community space for residents; the second floor has two program rooms named after the district’s SNS characters ‘Guse’ and ‘Roii’; and the third floor features a rooftop garden.
The district plans to operate a regular companion plant clinic where Seoul citizen gardeners reside on-site to provide consultations on plants and diagnose the condition of companion plants at any time.
In addition, various programs such as ▲Senior Gardening Program ▲Guro Village Gardener Training Program ▲One-day Class Program have been prepared.
First, the ‘Senior Gardening Program’ is designed for seniors aged 65 and older who want to befriend plants, and it will be held in sessions on various topics such as “Autumn Has Come to the Garden” and plant propagation. It will be held every Tuesday and Wednesday in October, and every Wednesday in November.
The ‘Guro Village Gardener Training Program’ for adults aged 18 and over focuses on theory and practice, covering topics such as understanding garden plants and maintenance of flowerpots. Applications are open until the 16th, and the program will run for a total of 10 sessions every Tuesday and Thursday from the 17th to November 21. A certificate will be awarded upon completion of the entire course.
The ‘One-day Class’ operates every Friday and Saturday.
Operating hours are from 10 AM to 5 PM on weekdays and from 10 AM to 12 PM on Saturdays. The center is closed on Mondays, Sundays, and public holidays.
Residents wishing to participate can apply by visiting the Guro Garden Support Center or inquire at the Parks and Greenery Division. Detailed information can be found on the Guro-gu Office website.
A Guro-gu official said, “We have prepared various experiential programs where people can enjoy gardening culture in daily life by creating a public gardening space where they can cultivate and appreciate gardens. We hope for active participation,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to create a comfortable and safe green resting place.”
