On the 2nd, Bonghwa County and the Bonghwa County Branch of the Korea Senior Citizens Association, who visited Yeongyang County, donated 8.35 million won in neighbor-helping funds.
At the donation ceremony, Bonghwa County Governor Park Hyunkook, Ha Seungyoung, Chairman of the Bonghwa County Government Employees' Union, and Ahn Cheolhwan, Chairman of the Bonghwa County Chapter of the Korean Senior Citizens Association, attended and delivered 3.05 million KRW and 5.3 million KRW, respectively.
Park Hyunkook, Governor of Bonghwa County, said, "We empathize with those who are struggling due to recent heavy rains and other difficulties, and all Bonghwa County employees and members of the Senior Citizens Association joined together with one heart to participate in this donation," adding, "We hope that our small act of sharing will bring hope to neighbors going through tough times."
O Dochang, Governor of Yeongyang County, expressed his gratitude to Bonghwa County and said, "I would like to thank Bonghwa County and the Bonghwa County Chapter of the Korean Senior Citizens Association for reaching out to help in difficult times," adding, "Your act of kindness will be a warm comfort to neighbors in need in the region."
The donated funds will be used for projects to support low-income and marginalized groups in the area through the Yeongyang County Community Security Council.
