More than 300 people have died in a massive landslide that recently occurred in southern India.
According to local media including the daily Times of India on the 2nd (local time), at least 326 people had died by that day due to the landslide that struck the Wayanad region of Kerala state on the 30th of last month.
Additionally, the number of missing persons is estimated to be around 300, so the death toll is expected to rise as time passes.
About 200 injured people have been transferred to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Rescue authorities recovered many bodies that day and also rescued four survivors from the debris of collapsed houses.
The landslide occurred following a record rainfall of 572mm on the 29th and 30th of last month. The first landslide happened around 1:15 a.m. on the 30th, followed by a stronger second landslide three hours later.
