Specialized Projects for Ages 19-39 Including Daily Care, Meals, and Nutrition Management
Selected for Daily Care Service Public Project, Services Also Provided to Middle-Aged and Older Adults
Care services in Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk, have been further expanded since March.
Uljin-gun was selected for the daily care service public contest project last year, providing services to middle-aged and senior citizens in need of care, as well as young adults caring for family members, receiving great response. Starting this year, the service has been expanded to include young adults aged 19 to 39 who require care, aiming to eliminate blind spots in care coverage.
The daily care service provides household and care services ranging from 12 to 72 hours per month to individuals who need assistance due to illness, disability, or injury. Additionally, as a specialized project, it offers meal and nutrition management, hospital accompaniment, and psychological support services.
In particular, the meal and nutrition management service, part of the specialized projects, delivers balanced side dishes eight times a month, receiving positive feedback from recipients who struggle to have proper meals alongside household and care services.
A recipient of the service stated, “My health suddenly deteriorated and I needed help, but this service started just in time, allowing me to go to the hospital and have meals, making daily life possible.”
The daily care service is available regardless of income, with only the co-payment rate (0?100%) varying according to income level, making it a service anyone in need of care can apply for.
Applications can be made by contacting the Hope Welfare Team at the local town or township office, where consultations will determine the appropriate service hours and types.
County Governor Son Byeong-bok said, “We will build a care system that allows any citizen in need of care to receive services regardless of age,” adding, “We will strive even harder to make Uljin-gun a place where no one is left out and everyone is happy together.”
