A man in his 70s who was injured by being gored by a cow at a slaughterhouse in Gimhae, Gyeongnam, died while receiving treatment.
According to the Gimhae Western Police Station in Gyeongnam on the 18th, at 8:09 a.m. on the 15th, a cow heading to the holding pen at Bukyeong Livestock in Juchon-myeon, Gimhae City, butted Mr. A in the side.
Mr. A was rushed to the hospital with a head injury but ultimately passed away around 7 p.m. that day.
CCTV footage at the accident site showed that before the cow entered the holding pen, the pen door closed, and the cow butted Mr. A, who was nearby. The footage captured Mr. A being lifted into the air and then falling, hitting his head on the ground first.
Mr. A was known to be a subcontracted worker for a livestock company, working in the holding pen where livestock wait before slaughter.
The cow involved in the accident was reportedly slaughtered as scheduled that day.
The police are investigating the exact cause of the accident and whether there was any negligence at work by questioning employees of Bukyeong Livestock, the subcontracted company, and the safety management officer.
