2019 Winner of the 'Most Handsome Man' Award
A man in his 20s who was once named the most handsome man in Italy has suddenly chosen the path of priesthood, becoming a topic of interest locally.
Edoardo Santini (21) from Florence posted a video on social media on the 2nd (local time) saying, "I felt the calling given to me. At 21, I chose the path of becoming a priest according to God's will."
Santini, a former swimmer, gained recognition when he was selected as the most handsome man in Italy at a competition hosted by fashion group ABE in 2019, four years ago.
According to the Italian daily Il Messaggero, after completing his studies, he worked as a professional actor and model but soon realized it was not his true path and entered seminary last year. He then realized that becoming a priest was his true calling.
Santini said, "I decided to give up modeling, acting, and dancing, but I will not abandon all my passions; I will just live differently," adding, "I will dedicate my passion to God."
He added, "I am happy now, and I will not regret this journey."
