Latitude Reservoir Level at 16.7%, Virtually Exposed Bottom Revealed
The bottom of the reservoir has been exposed due to severe drought in Wido-myeon, Buan-gun, Jeollabuk-do.
According to Jeollabuk-do on the 22nd, the rainfall in Wido over the past year was 964.2 mm, which is 78% of the average. In particular, the dry weather during the spring season has increased concerns about drought.
It is reported that residents of Wido have reached a serious water shortage situation due to the prolonged drought.
Not only Wido but also the surrounding areas are suffering from drought damage. Residents are struggling with a lack of water for daily use.
Jeollabuk-do, together with Buan-gun, visited Wido to assess the drought situation and encouraged the development of wells.
With a special grant of 1 billion won from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the construction of five groundwater wells is underway, which is expected to help alleviate the drought in the Wido area.
