The Yeongyang-gun Senior Job and Social Activity Support Project is conducted in a public interest activity type (environmental improvement, cleaning at senior centers), providing an activity allowance of 270,000 KRW per person based on 30 hours per month. This supports seniors' healthy and active later life by offering social participation opportunities to elderly people who wish to engage in economic activities.
A senior participating in the senior job project said, “If I stay at home, I just lie down and spend time boringly,” and added, “Although the time is short, I earn income while working and spend each day lively and meaningfully, so I am very happy.”
County Governor Dochang Oh said, “I hope the seniors participate with a positive mindset toward the job project, and we will continue to strive to ensure they can work healthily and safely.”
