Golf Membership Prices Surge... Jayu CC Rises Another 15 Million Won

As the golf industry wakes up from its winter slumber and begins preparing for the spring season, the golf membership market is also stirring.

Golf Membership Prices Surge... Jayu CC Rises Another 15 Million Won

According to the Donga Membership Exchange on the 4th, the average price of 100 major memberships traded nationwide this week rose by 0.55% compared to the previous week, reaching 223.14 million KRW. By price range, the ultra-high and high price tiers increased by 0.34% and 1.04% respectively, while the mid and low price tiers also rose by 0.63% and 0.75%, recording an overall upward trend.


The Donga Membership Exchange explained, "There has been an increase in purchase inquiries in preparation for the spring season, showing a firm upward trend," adding, "Most popular items are showing an upward trend, causing selling prices to rise."


The average price in the central region rose by 0.62% from the previous week to 252.82 million KRW. Jayu disappeared from the market, and after 35 million KRW last week, it rose again by 15 million KRW (6.38%) this week to reach 250 million KRW. Blue Heron also saw a sharp increase in selling prices, rising by 5 million KRW (3.01%) from the previous week to 171 million KRW. Hanyang in the Gangbuk area formed a price of 260 million KRW, up 7 million KRW (2.77%) due to increased buying demand, while New Seoul and Giheung also attracted many purchase orders, trading at 308 million KRW and 228 million KRW respectively, up 5 million KRW (1.65%) and 3 million KRW (1.33%).


The average price in the southern region also rose by 0.26% from the previous week to 146.32 million KRW. Gyeongju Shilla recorded 142 million KRW, up 9 million KRW (6.77%) from the previous week due to active purchase orders amid cautious competition. Opal also rose to 320 million KRW, up 10 million KRW (3.23%) from the previous week, as strong buying demand flowed in.


Lee Yun-hee, team leader at Donga Membership Exchange, said, "The southern region membership market is also seeing an overall increase in purchase inquiries," and added, "Prices are expected to rebound and show a firm upward trend."
