For Multi-Use Facilities Such as Dance-Allowed Establishments and General Restaurants
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Busan City will promote quarantine guidelines for multi-use facilities on the evening of the 8th in the Seomyeon Youth Street and Seomyeon 1st Street areas in preparation for the resurgence of COVID-19.
Recently, the Busan area has seen a clear increase in confirmed COVID-19 cases, with daily cases consistently in the 1,000s. Additionally, with the peak vacation season underway, the number of visitors to multi-use facilities such as tourists is rapidly increasing.
Due to the operation of air conditioning facilities in summer, ‘3M’ spaces?close contact, crowded, and enclosed?are formed, increasing the risk of COVID-19 spread within multi-use facilities. In particular, concerns are growing about the spread of COVID-19 in dance-allowed establishments such as emotional pubs, which have many simultaneous users.
There are a total of 22 dance-allowed establishments operating in the Seomyeon area, and the city will promote quarantine guidelines targeting these establishments and general restaurants.
About 50 people, including city and district office officials and consumer food hygiene inspectors affiliated with the city, will participate in this promotion. They will distribute recommended quarantine guideline notices for each establishment and emphasize the importance of voluntary quarantine practices.
The recommended quarantine guidelines for multi-use facilities include ▲ maintaining at least 1 meter distance from others (to reduce crowding) ▲ refraining from use if symptomatic ▲ continuously wearing masks before and after eating or drinking.
Jo Bong-su, Director of the City’s Citizen Health Bureau, said, “Since some confusion arises because some restaurants are unaware of or have not fully understood the quarantine guidelines, we plan to promote these guidelines alongside various hygiene inspections. We ask that both business operators and users actively participate in practicing quarantine guidelines to ensure a safe return to daily life.”
From June 20 to 30, Busan City completed inspections with a total of 469 personnel in 203 teams across 16 districts and counties, checking ▲ 8,377 restaurants and cafes ▲ 614 entertainment facilities. Education and inspections on voluntary quarantine measures such as indoor mask-wearing, regular ventilation, and disinfection management will continue until the end of August.
