July 15-18 Event Held in Pohang
Dream of East Sea Pohang, Gyeongbuk Provincial Sports Festival, Fully Prepared as a Venue for Provincial Unity.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Pohang City, Gyeongbuk Province, held the "2nd Preparation Status Report Meeting for the 60th Gyeongbuk Provincial Sports Festival in 2022" on the 18th at the city hall's large conference room.
At the meeting, presided over by Acting Mayor Jang-sik Lee, senior officials and department heads from each promotion team attended to discuss the major tasks and overall preparation status of each department for the 60th Gyeongbuk Provincial Sports Festival.
The meeting began with a promotional video for the 60th Gyeongbuk Provincial Sports Festival, followed by reports and discussions from each team on the progress of key tasks and future plans, generating passionate ideas for a successful event.
A mid-briefing session for the opening and closing ceremonies, conducted by KBS Art Vision, the agency in charge of public events and the torch relay production, was also held.
Acting Mayor Jang-sik Lee said, "With the 60th Gyeongbuk Provincial Sports Festival just over 50 days away, I ask for your great interest and cooperation to ensure that each department's plans proceed without any setbacks. We will hold the 60th Gyeongbuk Provincial Sports Festival as a successful and moving event to revitalize the local economy, which has been stagnant due to COVID-19, and to create a venue for provincial unity."
The 60th Gyeongbuk Provincial Sports Festival, held in Pohang for the first time in 12 years, will take place from July 15 to 18 under the slogan "Dream of East Sea Pohang, from Gyeongbuk to the World," with competitions held at Pohang Sports Complex and various venues. Approximately 11,000 participants, including athletes and officials from 23 cities and counties, are expected to attend.
