[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] The government has warned small business owners to be cautious as fraudulent text messages and phone calls related to government support such as small business loss compensation and loss compensation funds are increasing.
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups, the National Police Agency, and the Korea Internet & Security Agency announced on the 17th that scam texts and calls impersonating small business policy support are on the rise, urging caution.
Currently, loss compensation and loss compensation funds are included in the supplementary budget bill, which is under discussion in the National Assembly.
After the supplementary budget bill passes, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Small Enterprise and Market Service will open separate websites to announce, accept applications, and process submissions.
The government will continue to provide guidance and publicity to be cautious of scam texts and calls, suspend the use of such messages and calls, and strengthen investigations into the sending companies.
