Shinhan Card X Naver Z, Launch 'Zepeto Shinhan Card World'


[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Shinhan Card announced on the 23rd that it will launch the 'ZEPETO Shinhan Card World,' targeting Generation Z, on the global metaverse platform ZEPETO in collaboration with Naver Z.


Shinhan Card World is the first world map in the financial sector to officially partner with Naver Z. It was created with a unique story by analyzing accumulated user data such as Generation Z's metaverse behavior patterns and preferred designs. Based on a fairy tale concept virtual space, it incorporates gamification elements that can attract Generation Z's interest, including maze navigation, obstacle games, and conquering the world by finding hidden maps.


Additionally, the company explained that it expects the platform to play a significant role as a digital branch connecting virtual and real worlds by providing experiences of Shinhan Card's digital services, such as the future payment method 'Shinhan Face Pay,' through the metaverse platform.


Meanwhile, Shinhan Card plans to release the 'ZEPETO Shinhan Card,' a prepaid app card featuring avatar designs, in April. Considering the metaverse platform's characteristic of expressing users' identities, users can summon their avatars and customize the card design by selecting outfits, poses, backgrounds, and more, creating a one-of-a-kind card in the world. The application process is simplified with mobile phone identity verification only, lowering the entry barrier, and it is optimized for Generation Z's consumption patterns by adding a cash recharge function and offering 5% My Shinhan Points on convenience store and in-app payments.


Yoo Tae-hyun, Executive Director of Shinhan Card's Digital First Division, said, "Since the business agreement with Naver Z in July last year, we have launched Shinhan Card World based on insights gathered from analyzing the metaverse and Generation Z." He added, "We will continue collaborations that provide differentiated customer experiences aligned with Shinhan Financial Group's vision of 'Easier, More Comfortable, and Newer Finance' by serving as a connection point between the virtual and real worlds."
