Jin Joong-kwon: "If You Play Smart, the Watching People Get More Angry"
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyun-joo] Jin Joong-kwon, former professor at Dongyang University, strongly criticized Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party presidential candidate, for raising suspicions of a lenient investigation by Yoon Seok-yeol, the People Power Party presidential pre-candidate, regarding the Daejang-dong development project, using the word "insane."
Earlier, on the 16th, Lee posted on his Facebook, asking, "As the lead prosecutor in the Busan Savings Bank investigation, why did (pre-candidate Yoon) not investigate the 'Daejang-dong loan' case?" He claimed, "The person who should be arrested is not Lee Jae-myung but candidate Yoon Seok-yeol." He added, "In 2011, the Supreme Prosecutors' Office conducted a large-scale investigation into Busan Savings Bank, and the lead prosecutor was Yoon, head of the Central Investigation Division 2. Lee Jae-myung fought against the People Power Party and entrenched construction interests in the battle to recover development profits, recovering as much as 550.3 billion won, and there are too many coincidences that candidate Yoon, who stands on the opposite side, cannot explain."
On the same day, former professor Jin posted on his Facebook, saying, "He just recklessly throws out whatever comes to mind. Even a ghosting tactic needs some plausibility," adding, "He must be desperate. If he keeps scheming like that, the watching public will get even more angry."
Jin said, "There are only two options allowed for candidate Lee now. If he didn't know, then Park Geun-hye; if he did, then Lee Myung-bak," adding, "He must choose one of the two. Either he knew or he didn't. Logically, there is no other way." He argued, "Think about it sensibly. It's impossible that he neither knew nor didn't know."
He then sarcastically said, "(The best choice Lee can make) is to say this now: 'I didn't know. I was completely deceived by the construction faction. I was thoroughly incompetent as a mayor. I apologize to the citizens for the enormous losses caused. If it is dereliction of duty, then so be it, but at least I did not commit the crimes of breach of trust or bribery. Please believe only that.'"

Meanwhile, regarding Lee's so-called 'lenient investigation' allegations, Kim Byung-min, spokesperson for Yoon Seok-yeol's campaign, responded on the same day with a statement calling it baseless political manipulation. He said, "Is the only thing Lee Jae-myung, cornered in crisis, relying on really just 'negative false attacks'?" and urged, "'Daejang-dong Lee Jae-myung Gate,' voluntarily undergo a special prosecutor investigation first."
