[Asia Economy Reporters Seunggon Han, Seungmok Han, and PD Kyungdo Lee] "Take off the mask immediately!", "Apologize to the victims!"
Kim Youngjun (29), who is accused of impersonating a woman and forcing over 1,300 men to perform obscene acts during video calls over 7 years and 7 months, recording and distributing the footage, appeared on the morning of the 11th.
Kim, who had been held at the Seoul Jongno Police Station detention center, was transferred to the prosecution around 8 a.m. that day and showed his face for the first time. He told reporters, "I'm sorry, I acted alone," before being sent to the prosecution.
When asked by reporters, "Do you admit to the charges?" Kim replied, "I am sorry to the victims and will live reflecting on my actions." When requested to "Please take off the mask for a moment," he only responded, "I'm sorry."
To the question, "Do you have accomplices?" he said, "I acted alone." He did not answer any questions such as "Do you have anything to say to the victims?" and got into the escort vehicle.
