Seoul Gangseo-gu to Launch 'Smart Minbangwi Education' from the 15th

[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Gangseo-gu, Seoul (Mayor Noh Hyun-song) will conduct "Smart Civil Defense Education," which can be accessed via smartphone, starting from the 15th in response to the COVID-19 era.

This measure aims to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and increase convenience for participants. Previously, civil defense members in their 1st to 4th year were required to complete 4 hours of in-person training, while those with 5 or more years had to complete 1 hour each of cyber education or emergency assembly training.

Civil defense captains and members affiliated with the district can access the "Smart Civil Defense Education Homepage" using a smartphone or PC from April 15 to July 15 to take the course.

The education content includes ▲ the duties and roles of civil defense members ▲ infectious disease prevention ▲ cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) ▲ first aid and other public safety and citizen action guidelines.

After completing the 1-hour cyber lecture, participants must correctly answer at least 14 out of 20 multiple-choice questions to complete the training. Certificates of completion can be issued if needed.

For members who find it difficult to take cyber education, written training is also separately provided. Additionally, participation in blood donation and submission of a blood donation certificate will be recognized as training hours.

A district official stated, "As COVID-19 prolongs, we have prepared smart civil defense education for the safety and convenience of members," and added, "We ask for active participation and cooperation in this online education that will enhance disaster response capabilities and public safety skills."

Meanwhile, for civil defense members unable to participate during the basic education period, two supplementary training sessions will be held later this year (1st: August 1 to September 15 / 2nd: October 1 to November 15).
