Inspection of Compliance with Quarantine Rules Such as Mask Wearing at Facilities Frequently Used by District Residents
Seung-ro Lee, Mayor of Seongbuk-gu, is inspecting and guiding local cafes on compliance with Level 2 quarantine measures on the 25th.
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seung-ro Lee, Mayor of Seongbuk-gu, conducted a focused inspection on compliance with quarantine rules at multi-use facilities on the 25th, following the elevation of social distancing to Level 2 in the Seoul metropolitan area.
Due to concerns over the recent consecutive occurrences of local infections centered in the metropolitan area, inspections were carried out targeting key facilities frequently used by residents to check adherence to core quarantine rules.
The main inspection items included mask-wearing, management of visitor logs, and whether periodic ventilation and disinfection were conducted inside stores.
Mayor Seung-ro Lee, along with heads of departments responsible for each facility (Culture and Sports Division, Health and Hygiene Division, Urban Safety Division), confirmed overall compliance with the Level 2 social distancing quarantine rules (Seoul-type strengthened measures).
The key inspection points were ▲ compliance with distancing when ordering inside cafes and allowing only takeout and delivery ▲ prohibition of food consumption inside PC rooms, leaving one seat empty between users, disinfecting seats, and operating an appropriate number of people in smoking areas ▲ prohibition of dining after 9 p.m. and distancing between users in restaurants ▲ limiting seating to within 20% capacity during worship services in churches, among others.
The mayor personally participated in the inspection, emphasizing compliance with quarantine rules and listening to merchants’ voices about the current situation on site.
Seung-ro Lee, Mayor of Seongbuk-gu, said, “The district is doing its best to prevent the spread of infection within the area through thorough quarantine and frequent facility inspections. We ask residents to cooperate with inspections and adhere to personal quarantine rules following the Level 2 elevation. Seongbuk-gu will make every effort to ensure residents’ safety until this situation ends.”
In addition to the facilities inspected that day, Seongbuk-gu is conducting strict guidance and enforcement 24 hours a day on the ‘mandatory mask-wearing administrative order’ focusing on high-risk facilities such as singing practice rooms.

Furthermore, the district plans to actively promote COVID-19 situation awareness and response by producing and distributing customized informational materials tailored to local industries and facilities.
