The COVID-19 Overcome Hope Job Project is a program that provides public jobs to support residents who have suffered economic damage due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, helping to stabilize their lives and aid in the recovery of the local economy.
As of September 21, any resident of Dongdaemun-gu aged 18 or older with the ability to work can apply. However, recipients of unemployment benefits and households with two participants are excluded, and priority will be given to the unemployed and university students on leave.
After the application deadline, the district will conduct a review to select the final participants and notify them individually on September 29. The selected participants will work for two months from October 5 to November 30, 2020.
The recruitment fields include illegal advertisement cleanup, temperature checks, and daily quarantine activities. Working hours are limited to 8 hours per day and 5 days per week, with wages based on the 2020 minimum wage (8,590 KRW per hour). However, participants aged 65 or older may work 3 hours per day for safety reasons.
Residents wishing to participate in this project should bring their ID and visit their local community service center in person to apply between the 21st and 24th.
For more details, check the announcements or recruitment information board on the Dongdaemun-gu Office website, or contact the Job Policy Division of the district office or the local community service center.
