"2012" actor John Cusack to visit Korea

Hollywood movie star John Cusack will visit Korea to promote his new film "2012" on September 30, according to Sony Pictures.

The 44-year-old actor will be coming to Seoul as part of the "2012 Footage Tour," a ten-city world promotion tour, and Korea will be his first stop in Asia, Sony said in a press release.

The film's promotion event will include a showing of a special 53-minute video, followed by a press conference with Cusack, director Roland Emmerich famed for movies "Day After Tomorrow" and "Independence Day" and producer Harald Kloser, also from "Day After Tomorrow".

The disaster-action flick was inspired by an old Mayan prediction that the world will come to an end in the year 2012.

Cusack, a noted actor and screenwriter, has appeared in numerous Hollywood hits including "Say Anything", "Grosse Pointe Blank" and "High Fidelity".

"2012", also starring Amanda Peet and Thandie Newton, opens simultaneously worldwide on November 12.
