Actress Bae Doona has been confirmed as one of the main characters to German director Tom Tykwer and "The Matrix" brothers Andy and Lana Wachowski's upcoming star-studded science fiction film "Cloud Atlas."The movie's Korean importer and distributor Bloomage announced on Wednesday that Bae will star in "Cloud Atlas," the three's big screen adaptation of David Mitchell's novel of the same name set for premiere in the fall of next year after cranking in later this week.Bae will join a long list of top Hollywood stars for the pic including Tom Hanks, Hugh Grant, Halle Berry, Jim Sturgess, Ben Whishaw and Susan Sarandon. In "Cloud Atlas," about six stories set in different times and places, Bae will mainly play a Korean clone set in the year 2144 but also multiple roles in the various storylines as will the remaining members of the cast.The pic, an English-language German-U.S. co-production on a budget of 120 million dollars, has been dubbed "the most expensive German film of all time" by German media.Bae has appeared in many dramas and movies since her debut in 1998 including the Japanese movie "Linda Linda Linda" (2005) and Korean movie "The Host" (2006).
