Park Chan-wook's film 'PARANMANJANG' invited to Cannes Lion fest

Famed Korean director Park Chan-wook's film "PARANMANJANG" will be screened at this year's Cannes Lion International Festival of Creativity next week, according to the official website on Wednesday. The official website revealed that "PARANMANJANG," which was shot by using a smartphone, was invited to the festival, into its 58th edition, to be held at the Palais de Festivals in Cannes of France on June 23, while the event will kick off this Sunday and run till June 25. "PARANMANJANG" tells of a man who begins fishing in the morning while not catching anything till night when a young woman in a white funeral dress appears, calling him. The film, helmed by Korean auteurs Park Chan-wook and Park Chan-kyong, has won several awards including the Golden Bear for best short film from the 61st Berlin International Film Festival. The Cannes Lions International Festival is the largest gathering of worldwide advertising professionals, designers, digital innovators and marketers.
