Iranian film co taps actress Han

Korean actress Han Hye-jin has been tapped to star in a Iranian film, according to her agency on Tuesday.An Iranian director, who asked not to be named, sought out Mr. Mahdi Zavari to ask if Han would take the lead role in his film, Namoo Actors said.Zavari, currently based in Tehran, is in charge of handling the international affairs for Iranian blockbuster "The Kingdom of Solomon" at a famous movie company in the country."The film is currently in preparations for production in Iran and Korea this winter", Zavari was quoted as saying.Han's agency said it is unlikely the actress will be able to take on the role with a drama currently in shooting.The 27-year-old actress gained popularity in Iran through Korean historical drama "Jumong" which has been a smash hit since airing on channel 3 of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) late last year, hitting a viewership rating of 85 percent in the country.Reporter : Ko Kyoung-seok kave@asiae.co.krEditor : Jessica Kim jesskim@asiae.co.kr<ⓒ10Asia All rights reserved>
