The unveiling ceremony was opened by Lim's family: Song Youngsook, Chairman of Hanmi Group, Im Juhyun, Vice Chairman, and Im Jonghun, President. Key group executives were also in attendance, including former Vice Chairman Lee Kwansoon, who worked on new drug development with the late chairman for many years; Park Jaehyun, CEO of Hanmi Pharm; division heads; Shim Byunghwa, Vice President of Hanmi Science; and Woo Kisuk, CEO of Online Pharm.
The bronze relief features the likeness of the late chairman Lim and his handwritten motto, "Innovative management for a leading pharmaceutical nation." Lim's major achievements are organized into four sections: the foundation, the beginning of innovation, R&D management, and a paradigm shift. The work presents a comprehensive overview of his life, from founding a pharmacy to Korea's first and largest export of new drug technology, all shaped by his management philosophy of "respect for humanity."
The artwork also chronicles milestones such as the establishment of Hanmi Pharm Industry in 1973, the launch of its first product "T.S Powder," the completion of the Paltan GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) plant, the construction of the Dongtan R&D Center, and the largest-ever export of new drug technology in the history of Korea’s pharmaceutical industry. It also reflects Lim's lifelong conviction that "new drug development is as precious as my own life."
The sculpture highlights Lim's innovative achievements in developing Korea's first improved and combination drugs, which established unique competitiveness for the company. It features a range of products spanning generations, including the dyslipidemia combination drug "Rosuzet," which made Hanmi the first Korean pharmaceutical company to top annual out-of-hospital prescription sales, as well as other prescription drugs such as "Amodipin" and "Amojaltan," the children’s antipyretic "Suspen," the probiotic "Medilac," and the children’s supplement "TenTen."
Chairman Song stated, "The spirit of Lim Sungki is the most precious value and legacy that Hanmi Group must eternally cherish and uphold. I hope that many members of Hanmi will take the true meaning of former Chairman Lim Sungki to heart."
