The number of applications for "Saebit House," Suwon City's home repair support program for low-rise residential areas, increased compared to last year.
Suwon City announced on March 4 that a total of 3,049 households applied for the Saebit House program during the recruitment period from January 5 to February 27. This is an increase of 82 households compared to last year, when 2,967 households applied.
By region, Gwonseon-gu recorded the highest number with 1,260 households, followed by Jangan-gu with 984, Paldal-gu with 554, and Yeongtong-gu with 251. By housing type, there were 1,096 single-family houses, 786 exclusive areas of multi-family housing, and 1,167 common areas of multi-family housing.
Suwon City plans to conduct a first-stage quantitative evaluation (document review) and a second-stage qualitative evaluation (on-site inspection) for the applicant homes, and will finalize the list of recipients on April 24. Selected households will carry out home repairs from May to September. Up to 12 million won (with a 10% self-payment) will be provided, covering up to 90% of the total construction costs.
Saebit House is a project that supports the repair costs of aging low-rise houses, providing practical repair support such as waterproofing, insulation, window installations, and electrical work. The program targets houses with four floors or less (including single-family, multi-family, and row houses) that have been approved for use for at least 20 years.
A Suwon City official stated, "Citizens' strong interest in Saebit House has led to an increase in applications," adding, "We will continue to promote urban regeneration that citizens can experience by improving the residential environment of aging low-rise houses."
