During the trial, the prosecution stated, "He encouraged the victim to engage in prostitution at a park and attached a GPS device to track her location." They explained that he checked in real time whether the victim was meeting customers at the designated location. Kazuya had been working at the girls bar since April 2023, and it is known that he later dropped out of university and worked there full time. He reportedly went beyond simple customer service and took on a manager-level role, overseeing other employees' attendance and pay.

The 27-year-old female victim joined the establishment in September 2024. According to the indictment, Kazuya verbally abused her with remarks such as "Your appearance is not attractive" and "Your work ability is poor," and routinely subjected her to cruel treatment, including punching and kicking her and forcing her to eat food. Investigators confirmed that the victim had more than 20 bruises on her body.

He is also accused of forcing her to engage in prostitution with around 400 people over a period of three months near Okubo Park in Kabukicho, Tokyo. However, testimony has emerged that her wages were not properly paid. In a police interview, the victim stated, "I was so physically and mentally exhausted that I could not run away," and "I was not treated as a human being." The police launched an investigation and on October 15 last year arrested Kazuya and the girls bar manager, Suzuki Maoya, on charges of violating the Anti-Prostitution Act.

After the incident became known, Kazuya's appearance became a hot topic online in Japan. Some netizens called him "the most beautiful criminal" and showed interest, and AI-generated anime-style fan art also appeared. In this regard, there has been criticism in Japan that "the seriousness of the crime is being overshadowed by the focus on his looks."
