Supporting Overseas Expansion in the United States, China, Germany, and Beyond
The Korea Institute of Design Promotion announced on the 24th that, together with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, it is recruiting companies to join the "Design Market Pioneering Mission," a program aimed at helping domestic design companies enter overseas markets targeting the global market, until March 6.
The Design Market Pioneering Mission selects design companies with strong potential for overseas expansion and supports their entry into foreign markets. The program offers support such as overseas market trends and information, export training, business consultation meetings, and networking.
In addition, by organizing B2B consultation meetings and networking events in connection with local design exhibitions and events, the program allows participants to experience the overseas market environment firsthand and provides opportunities to connect with local clients and partners. Around 25 companies are expected to be selected for this year's program.
Starting with the Chinese market in 2023 and expanding last year to the United States and Germany, this program has been serving as a cornerstone for promoting Korean design abroad, expanding overseas business channels, and facilitating entry into global markets.
In particular, by hosting design business consultation meetings and networking events in conjunction with San Francisco Design Week and the IFA Berlin (Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin) in Germany, the program offers opportunities to directly engage with actual design demand in overseas markets and to strengthen competitiveness.
This year, in addition to San Francisco in the United States, Guangzhou in China, and Berlin in Germany, the program plans to newly add Munich in Germany as a destination for dispatching the Design Market Pioneering Mission. Through this, it aims to enhance the accessibility of domestic design companies to the European market and to expand the foundation for global cooperation.
Director General Kang Yoonjoo of the Korea Institute of Design Promotion said, "The Design Market Pioneering Mission has established itself as a practical cooperation platform that connects domestic design companies with global industries," adding, "We will continue to actively support overseas expansion and the expansion of global partnerships."
