Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dongyeon strongly requested that KINTEX in Goyang cancel the venue rental for the March 1 Independence Movement Day Jeon Han-gil concert scheduled to be held there.

On the 23rd, Gyeonggi Province announced that Governor Kim Dongyeon had urged KINTEX President Lee Minwoo in Goyang to cancel the venue rental for the "March 1 Independence Movement Day Freedom Concert" (commonly known as the Jeon Han-gil concert).

An official from Gyeonggi Province explained, "Under the regulations of KINTEX in Goyang, venue allocation may be restricted for events that are deemed difficult to accept under generally accepted social norms."

Previously, the YouTube channel "Jeon Han-gil News" promoted the "March 1 Independence Movement Day Freedom Concert" to be held on March 2 at KINTEX in Goyang by posting a poster featuring photos of the lineup, including former MBC announcer Lee Jaeyong and singer Tae Jin-ah.

However, the day before, the side of singer Tae Jin-ah released a statement saying, "He will not be appearing at the 'March 1 Independence Movement Day Freedom Concert,'" and added, "We will file criminal complaints and lawsuits for defamation against the event official who inquired about his schedule by disguising a political event as a general event."

Former announcer Lee Jaeyong also recounted the situation when he first received the request to host the event, saying, "I was told it was a March 1 Independence Movement Day commemorative concert organized by the conservative camp, but that I was only being asked to host the concert portion, so there would be no problem at all, and there was no mention whatsoever that Mr. Jeon Han-gil was involved in the event." He continued, "The day before, after realizing the nature of the event, I immediately contacted the organizer to say I could not host it and asked them to remove me from the poster." He added that he would not pursue legal action.
