The Ministry of Science and ICT and the Institute of Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP) announced on the 24th that they hosted the "2026 IITP Tech & Future Insight Concert" under the theme "Quantum AI: The Convergence of Quantum and AI, A New Connection Toward the Future," in cooperation with the Future Quantum Convergence Forum.


Global leaders in the quantum industry such as IBM, Quantela, and Pasqal, along with domestic experts from industry, academia, and research institutes, attended the concert. They are examining how industries will be transformed by Quantum AI and sharing strategies to secure future competitiveness.


In the keynote session, global quantum frontrunners presented the feasibility and vision of Quantum AI. Kim Yuseok, Head of Quantela Korea, introduced changes in the AI market based on Quantum Machine Learning (QML) and analyzed trends in the adoption of quantum computing in Europe and their implications for industry.


In the subsequent sessions, experts from industry, academia, and research institutes highlighted the technological and industrial significance of Quantum AI by presenting application cases across various industrial sectors in Korea. Specialists from concrete sectors such as bio/healthcare and materials development introduced real-world demonstration cases of Quantum AI.


First Vice Minister of Science and ICT Koo Hyukchae stated, "Quantum AI is a game changer in the global race for technological supremacy, capable of reinforcing the limits of digital computing and expanding the scope of AI utilization," adding, "We will gradually expand Quantum AI research and demonstrations, and provide support so that its potential applications can be broadened in key areas such as new drug development, advanced materials, national defense, and security."
