Yeongam County in South Jeolla Province has begun building a full-scale promotional system to ensure the successful hosting of the "2027-28 Visit Yeongam Years."

The county announced that on the 20th it signed a memorandum of understanding at the county office with the Namdo Landscape Research Institute to establish a cooperative system for tourism promotion. The agreement is intended to systematically document and disseminate key local tourism assets such as Wolchulsan National Park, the Wangin Dr. Historic Site, and Yeongam Lake through photographic content, in order to promote the Visit Years nationwide and to boost stay-type tourism.

The Namdo Landscape Research Institute is a photography network organization that shares landscape information from the Honam region in real time, based on a membership of more than 8,000 people. It has also built a network with 300,000 photographers and travelers nationwide, and is therefore expected to have a significant ripple effect.

Under the agreement, institute members will professionally photograph major tourist attractions and festival sites in Yeongam and provide the images to the county free of charge, while also holding photo exhibitions and conducting promotional activities through social networking services (SNS). Yeongam County plans to use this material as official promotional content to create momentum for the Visit Years.

Yeongam County Governor Woo Seunghee said, "This agreement will serve as a starting point for promoting the 2027-28 Visit Yeongam Years nationwide," adding, "We will actively utilize content that vividly captures Yeongam's nature, culture, people, and stories to transform the county into a stay-type tourism city."

The signing ceremony was attended by Governor Woo Seunghee, Choi Geunyoung, head of the Namdo Landscape Research Institute, and others, who pledged to work together for the successful hosting of the Visit Years.
