On the 3rd, Changwon Special City in South Gyeongsang Province signed investment agreements worth a total of KRW 400 billion with eight companies in high-tech and strategic industries at the main conference hall of the South Gyeongsang Provincial Government.

The agreements are expected to create more than 400 new jobs and serve as a turning point in strengthening Changwon's future industrial competitiveness.

The signing ceremony was attended by Acting Mayor Jang Geum-yong of Changwon Special City, Governor Park Wansu of South Gyeongsang Province, the heads of eight cities and counties, and the CEOs of 19 companies, who reaffirmed their commitment to mutual cooperation for revitalizing the regional economy and creating jobs.

The eight companies participating in this agreement will make large-scale investments in Changwon's core future industrial sectors, including nuclear power, defense, aerospace, and robotics.

Doosan Enerbility plans to expand its nuclear power plant equipment manufacturing facilities at its Changwon site to enhance its manufacturing capabilities and strengthen its competitiveness in the next-generation nuclear power industry.

KIPCO Aerospace, a specialist in next-generation surveillance and protection platforms, plans to build a new K2 tank parts production plant in the Changwon National Industrial Complex and other locations, aiming to become a global leading company in K-defense by achieving unrivaled next-generation technology convergence in the defense sector.

SG Solution, a company specializing in defense component manufacturing, plans to strengthen its technological competitiveness by establishing new facilities for the production of hydraulic equipment, auxiliary power units, and next-generation business operations in the Changwon National Industrial Complex and other areas.

NDT Engineering, leveraging its unrivaled technological capabilities in aerospace and non-destructive testing, will expand a "tourism UAM core component production plant" in the Masan Free Trade Zone to support the nation's first commercialization of urban air mobility (UAM) and the establishment of a production base.

Bon Systems, a leading company in the artificial intelligence robot industry, will newly build and expand manufacturing plants across Buk-myeon in Uichang-gu in response to rising demand for core drive components such as robot reducers and actuators, thereby boosting production capacity and advancing its technology.

Robolution, a manufacturer of industrial and collaborative robots, will establish a new business site in the Dongjeon General Industrial Complex to accelerate the enhancement of its automation technology and manufacturing competitiveness.

Seven Tech, backed by advanced technological capabilities, plans to solidify its position as a specialized defense company by expanding its production plant for defense cooling control devices and hydraulic and pneumatic equipment in the Masan Free Trade Zone.

Powergen, a company that has built up manufacturing capabilities in automotive and electronic components, will expand its production facilities within the Changwon National Industrial Complex to build mass-production lines for existing products and vehicle thermal management systems, thereby growing its business.

Acting Mayor Jang Geum-yong of Changwon Special City stressed, "This investment represents an important decision by key companies in high-tech and strategic industries that will lead Changwon's next 50 years," adding, "It will mark a turning point in securing new growth engines for the Changwon economy and strengthening the competitiveness of local industries."

He also said, "We will spare no administrative support to ensure that the companies' investments can proceed smoothly."
