Gyeongbok University held its "2026 Winter Commencement Ceremony" on the 20th at the U-dang Art Hall on the first floor of the Culture Hall at the Namyangju Campus.
At the commencement ceremony that day, Gyeongbok University conferred degrees on a total of 1,916 graduates, including 768 bachelor's degrees and 1,148 associate's degrees.
At the ceremony, the U-dang Grand Prize was awarded to Nursing major Jung Seoyoung and Software Convergence major Kim Jinyong, while the overall valedictorians were Nursing major Hwang Yeonjin and Visual Design major Lee Mingyu.

Gyeongbok University President Jeon Jiyong said, "Today's graduation is a new starting point for you to move forward as intellectuals, professionals, and responsible members of society," and urged, "Continuously build expertise in a single field, have a firm conviction that allows you to envision who you will be ten years from now, and become people who think deeply about how to solve problems."
President Jeon, in particular, quoted Epictetus, saying, "What matters is not what happens, but how you respond to it," and emphasized, "In the age of AI, the choices you make will determine your future."
Last year, Gyeongbok University recorded an employment rate of 82.1%, ranking first for the eighth consecutive year in the combined employment rate of general universities and junior colleges in the Seoul metropolitan area.
