MSIT Launches Government-wide AX...Hosts Public-Private Cooperation Meeting

The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 23rd that the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy Committee held a meeting with full-cycle (full-stack) artificial intelligence (AI) suppliers and relevant government ministries.

Senior Presidential Secretary for AI Future Strategy Ha Jung-woo from the Presidential Office, along with four ministries including the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, and the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, attended the meeting.

From the industry, 13 full-stack AI suppliers participated, including Naver Cloud, KT Cloud, NHN Cloud, Ellice Cloud, LG AI Research Institute, SK Telecom, Upstage, NC AI, FuriosaAI, HyperAccel, Rebellions, DeepX, and Mobilint. They discussed their state of readiness and future strategies for the successful implementation of AI Transformation (AX) projects across all ministries.

At the meeting, the government presented the implementation direction and current status of AX projects being prepared by each ministry, and conveyed its requirements to encourage the participation of full-stack AI suppliers.

During the subsequent open discussion session, AI suppliers shared their current preparations and difficulties. With the launch of AX projects across all ministries approaching, they discussed ways for the government and companies to effectively promote public-private cooperation.

The Ministry of Science and ICT, together with the relevant ministries, plans to review the opinions raised at the meeting to derive the implementation direction for AX projects across all ministries, while also establishing a pan-government AX cooperation framework to leverage the capabilities of full-stack AI companies.

An official from the Ministry of Science and ICT stated, "We plan to link government AX projects with the development of domestic AI models and AI semiconductors to advance the domestic AI ecosystem."
