This briefing has been prepared to provide a comprehensive introduction to the city’s investment environment and corporate support strategies centered on the Wangsuk Urban High-tech Industrial Complex, and to mark the start of full-scale corporate attraction activities. As the city’s first corporate investment promotion briefing, it is a strategic step toward leaping forward as a future high-tech industrial city.

In December last year, the city completed approval for the designation and development plan of the Wangsuk Urban High-tech Industrial Complex, a core self-sufficient facility in the third new town Wangsuk District. Based on this, it will begin construction of the complex within the first half of this year, start phased land supply in the second half, and push the project forward with the goal of completion in 2032.

The Wangsuk Urban High-tech Industrial Complex will be developed over an area of about 1.2 million square meters in the Jingeon-eup area. This makes it the largest in the Seoul metropolitan area, about 1.7 times the size of Pangyo Techno Valley. The city plans to foster it as a strategic hub for advanced knowledge-based industries such as artificial intelligence (AI), information and communications technology (ICT) and semiconductor fabless, and advanced manufacturing.

The area is considered an optimal location for companies considering relocation to or expansion within the Seoul metropolitan area, as its "triple-station" transportation network, where the GTX-B line, Subway Line 9, and the Gyeongchun Line intersect, allows access to the Gangnam area and Yeouido in around 30 minutes. In addition, its business-friendly investment environment is cited as a major strength, including land supply at development cost, reductions in acquisition and property taxes, and the provision of various administrative support packages.

During the briefing, the city will provide comprehensive information on its investment competitiveness and on the sale of lots in the Wangsuk Urban High-tech Industrial Complex. Presentations on large-scale investment cases by Woori Bank, Kakao, and others, as well as networking between companies and investors, will also take place.

Namyangju City has attracted leading future-industry companies such as Woori Financial Group, Kakao, and Shinhan Financial Group, and in January this year signed an investment agreement for the "X-AI Smart Energy Data Center" worth 1 trillion won. Based on a total of 3 trillion won in AI infrastructure investment, the city plans to accelerate the attraction of leading domestic and international companies (anchor companies) and the spread of related high-tech industries.

An official from Namyangju City said, "This briefing will serve as a starting signal to fully promote the competitiveness of the Wangsuk Urban High-tech Industrial Complex to companies and investors," adding, "We will make thorough preparations so that the city can take a leap forward as a future self-sufficient high-tech industrial city where companies and talent grow together."
