Xi Sends Congratulatory Message to Chairman Kim Jong Un on the 23rd

Chinese President Xi Jinping has sent a congratulatory message to Kim Jong Un, Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of North Korea, on his reappointment as General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea. Through the message, President Xi reaffirmed the friendly relations between North Korea and China and expressed a firm commitment to maintaining strategic closeness amid rapidly changing international circumstances.

Chinese state-run Xinhua News Agency and other local media reported that on the 23rd, President Xi sent a congratulatory message to Chairman Kim on his reappointment as General Secretary at the 9th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea.

In his congratulatory message, President Xi stated, "Since the 8th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea, the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, with General Secretary Kim Jong Un at its core, has united and led the Korean people in their struggle and achieved new successes in the cause of socialist construction in Korea," adding, "Chairman Kim's reappointment as General Secretary demonstrates the deep trust and sincere support that the Korean Party, government, and people place in Comrade General Secretary."

He went on to say, "It is of great significance that this Party Congress has been successfully convened at an important stage of inheriting and developing the work of the Party and the state in Korea," and added, "I hope that, under the strong leadership of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea with the General Secretary at its core, the socialist cause in Korea will continuously open up new prospects."

President Xi also attached special significance to North Korea-China relations. He said, "China and North Korea are socialist neighbors that help each other," and declared, "It is the unwavering policy of the Chinese Party and government to properly maintain, consolidate, and develop China-North Korea relations."

He further noted, "In recent years, I and Comrade General Secretary have met many times and have strongly guided the positive development of bilateral relations," and proposed, "Even amid the complex and rapidly changing international situation, let both sides implement our important agreements and jointly write a new chapter of friendship between China and North Korea."

In conclusion, President Xi emphasized that the two countries should support each other's socialist construction, contribute to improving the well-being and friendship of both peoples, and help promote peace, stability, and prosperity in the region and the world.
