Two Residents Injured and Transported
No Human Casualties Reported at Factory
At approximately 11:56 a.m. on the 23rd, a fire broke out at a plastic manufacturing factory in the Dongsu Industrial Complex in Bonghwang-myeon, Naju-si, Jeollanam-do. Provided by Jeollanam-do Fire Headquarters
Fires broke out one after another at a house and a factory in Naju, Jeollanam-do at 10-minute intervals, leaving two people injured and causing a series of fire-related damages.
According to the Jeollanam-do Fire Headquarters on the 23rd, at around 12:06 p.m. that day, a fire broke out at a house in Jukseok-ri, Bonghwang-myeon, Naju-si, Jeollanam-do, and the fire authorities carried out firefighting operations.
In the fire, an elderly woman in her 80s who lived in the house and a neighboring resident, two people in total, suffered burns and were transported to a nearby hospital. The fire authorities mobilized 6 pieces of equipment and 23 personnel to the scene to extinguish the flames.
Earlier, at around 11:56 a.m. the same day, a fire had also broken out at a plastic manufacturing factory in Dongsu Industrial Complex, Bonghwang-myeon, Naju-si, Jeollanam-do. The fire was brought under initial control 33 minutes after it started.
Fortunately, all employees working at the factory evacuated quickly as soon as the fire broke out, and there were no additional human casualties. The fire authorities deployed 17 pieces of equipment and 22 firefighters to put out the remaining embers.
The fire authorities plan to investigate the exact causes of the two fires and the scale of property damage once both firefighting operations are completely finished.
