"Protect My Bank Account": Gwangju Buk-gu Introduces "Personal Asset Doctors"

Gwangju Buk-gu is assigning "personal asset management doctors" for young people who are exposed to the risk of crime or financial loss due to insufficient financial knowledge.

According to Buk-gu on the 23rd, it is fully launching a new program called the "Young Adult Asset Management Personal Doctor System" to help young adults achieve sound financial independence and support a healthy economic life.

This system was established to prevent financial damage to young adults caused by loan fraud or excessive investment. It provides comprehensive support that includes one-on-one intensive mentoring by experts, special lectures by field, and connection services with related institutions.

Unlike the group-oriented financial education that Buk-gu has provided so far, this program is conducted as customized consulting that carefully reflects each young adult's different financial situation, including income, debt, and expenditure. Professionals who hold financial planning certifications will directly serve as "personal doctors" and provide solutions across the financial spectrum, including asset and debt management, proper investment methods, and insurance and pension planning.

In-depth counseling will be provided up to two times per person, with each session lasting 90 minutes. Any young adult aged 19 to 39 who resides or is active in Buk-gu can participate, and applications can be submitted through the Buk-gu Youth Center website starting tomorrow (the 24th).

In addition to intensive counseling, Buk-gu plans to offer a total of four expert special lectures that provide practical help to young adults, covering topics such as economic trends, basic financial planning, fundamental investment concepts, and ways to use government financial policies. It also plans to build a seamless support network by mutually connecting young adults with specialized financial support institutions such as the Credit Counseling and Recovery Service, the Korea Inclusive Finance Agency, and the Youth Dream Bank.

An official from Buk-gu said, "The Young Adult Asset Management Personal Doctor System will go beyond simple financial counseling and serve as a reliable partner that designs the long-term lives of young adults together," adding, "We will continue to provide various forms of support so that young adults can prepare for a stable future."
