This project supports the removal and disposal of slate used for roofs and walls of residential and non-residential buildings, as well as roof improvement. It is being promoted to reduce the risk of exposure to asbestos, which is classified as a Group 1 carcinogen, and to ease the financial burden of disposal costs on local residents.

This year, a total project budget of 360.12 million won will be invested to support slate disposal costs for 84 buildings in total, including 53 residential buildings, 24 non-residential buildings, and roof improvements for 7 residential buildings.

For the demolition of slate residential houses, up to 7 million won per general household will be provided, while priority households such as basic livelihood security recipients will receive full support. For non-residential demolition, costs will be covered for areas of up to 200 square meters. In addition, for residential roof improvements, up to 5 million won will be provided to general households and up to 10 million won to priority households, and any costs exceeding the support amount must be borne by the applicants themselves.

Owners of buildings who wish to participate in the project must visit the eup or myeon Administrative Welfare Center with jurisdiction over the building location and apply by March 20, 2026. Based on the applications received, the county will conduct on-site inspections and then select the final beneficiaries according to priority in order to carry out the project.
