"Earn Up to 50,000 Points a Year by Exercising"...Ttuntun Money Program Launched

Points Can Be Used to Purchase Sports Equipment and More

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced that, together with the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation, it will implement the “2026 Sports Activity Incentive (Ttuntun Money)” program starting on February 23 to encourage people to participate in sports activities in their daily lives.

Ttuntun Money is a special benefit program under which any citizen aged 4 or older can earn 500 points for every 30 minutes of participation in sports activities. Individuals can earn up to 50,000 points per year by engaging in sports activities at more than 4,000 sports facilities nationwide where points can be accumulated, or by undergoing fitness assessments at National Physical Fitness Certification Centers across the country. The accumulated points can be converted into Zero Pay sports vouchers, Samsung Life Slim Money, and cultural gift certificates, among others, and can be broadly used in the sports and health sectors to purchase sports equipment, register at sports facilities, use pharmacies and hospitals, and pay insurance premiums.

"Earn Up to 50,000 Points a Year by Exercising"...Ttuntun Money Program Launched

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation stated that, to improve user convenience this year, they will launch a dedicated Ttuntun Money application (app) at the end of March. Using the app will make exercise verification and point management even more convenient. The ministry and the foundation explained that after the app is launched (scheduled for March 31), they plan to gradually provide all functions, including sports activity record management, searches for nearby point-accumulating facilities, point conversion, and various participation-linked challenges. They added that until the app is launched (until March 30), the program will be operated mainly to provide participation guidance and point accumulation functions by using a QR code on the “National Fitness 100” website. They also explained that they plan to continuously expand the places where Ttuntun Money points can be converted, including links to local currencies and financial institutions.

Promotional activities and various events will also be carried out in connection with the app launch. Detailed information on participation in Ttuntun Money and related events can be found on the “National Fitness 100” website.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation are expanding the scale of support for the Ttuntun Money program every year. In particular, last year they provided benefits to approximately 124,000 people, about five times more than the roughly 25,000 people in 2024, thereby laying the foundation for participatory sports policies.

Kim Daehyun, Second Vice Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said, “Ttuntun Money is expected to increase public participation in everyday sports by providing tangible rewards for exercise participation, and to help ease the burden of medical expenses and establish a culture of health management by preventing chronic diseases,” adding, “The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will work to gradually expand the scale of support to create an environment in which people can more easily enjoy sports in their daily lives and to realize a ‘society with strong fundamentals.’”
