This project aims to systematically improve the visual environment of public spaces, focusing on outdoor advertising, in order to enhance the quality of local landscapes and to strengthen both user convenience and safety for residents. The total project period runs from March to December 2026, and seven local governments will be selected through this call for applications to carry out the project.

The Association will provide 100 million won to each local government. The local governments will also contribute the same amount of 100 million won on a 50:50 matching basis, creating a total project budget of 1.4 billion won for the seven participating local governments.

The eligible applicants are cities, counties, and districts nationwide. They will be evaluated and selected through a comprehensive review of their performance in previous participation projects (such as signboard improvement projects), the suitability of the target sites, the local governments' implementation capacity and the specificity of their project plans, and the expected improvement effects.

Cities, counties, and districts wishing to participate must complete the application form and submit it to the Association by official document by 1:00 p.m. on March 27, 2026. Each of the 17 metropolitan cities and provinces will inform and distribute the details of this call to the cities, counties, and districts under their jurisdiction to help ensure smooth participation.

In addition, the Association plans to support the nationwide dissemination of the project outcomes by producing documentary videos of the project results and sharing best practices. After the project is completed, it will also establish a sustainable management system by checking performance, preparing follow-up management measures, and accumulating and managing related data.

Chairman Jung Sunyong said, "Outdoor advertising in public spaces is a key element of the living environment that citizens encounter every day," adding, "The Association will work with local governments to systematically support design improvements that reflect local conditions, thereby enhancing both residents' convenience and the quality of urban landscapes."

The Association is the only public-interest corporation in Korea established to support sound fiscal management and development of local governments, with more than 420 institutions and organizations, including 243 local governments nationwide, as members. Based on the spirit of mutual aid, it is carrying out various outdoor advertising support projects, including mutual aid programs, and is continuously promoting projects for community development and the realization of public value.
