Girl group Blackpink has become the first artist in the world to surpass 100 million YouTube subscribers and shared their thoughts, saying, "We are truly grateful."

On the afternoon of the 21st, the Blackpink members expressed their gratitude to fans through a short 1-minute-and-28-second YouTube video for helping them reach 100 million subscribers. Jisoo said, "The Blackpink YouTube channel has become the first official artist channel in the world to reach 100 million subscribers," adding, "To commemorate this, we received the YouTube Red Diamond Creator Award."


Jennie continued, "We would like to once again thank everyone who always takes an interest in our music and loves us," and added, "We are especially happy that we were able to set this record together with Blink (the name of Blackpink's fandom)." Ros? also mentioned that this is a first-of-its-kind record and emphasized how meaningful it is. Lisa said, "We would also like to thank YouTube for always supporting us and providing a space where we can communicate with fans around the world," and continued, "Above all, we are truly grateful to all the Blinks who have been with us at every moment, watching and listening to our music and growing together with us every step of the way. Without you, we could not have come this far."


Lastly, Jisoo added, "We have poured our hearts into preparing our third mini album 'Deadline' for a long time, so we ask for lots of love." Blackpink is also set to release their third mini album "Deadline" on the 27th. This new album is their first new release in 3 years and 5 months since they dropped their second full-length album in September 2022.

Meanwhile, Blackpink's official YouTube channel, which was launched on June 28, 2016, reached 100 million subscribers in about 9 years and 8 months. In the process, a total of 50 pieces of content, including "DDU-DU DDU-DU" and "Kill This Love," recorded over 100 million views each. The channel's cumulative views have reached approximately 41.2 billion, and nine videos on the official channel have joined the "Billion View Club." Recently, in line with the promotional activities for their third mini album "Deadline," which is scheduled for release on the 27th, the number of subscribers has been rapidly increasing. According to YG, since the release of the teaser video on the 15th of last month, an average of about 10,000 new subscribers have joined the channel each day.


Blackpink had already become the first non-English-language artist to enter YouTube's top 5 most-subscribed channels in 2020, and in September 2021, they rose to the position of the most-subscribed artist in the world and have maintained the top spot ever since. They have been officially listed in Guinness World Records in the United Kingdom as "the band with the most views on YouTube."
